This week: a bubble soccer tournament, mysterious story telling, and the answers to the universe (sort of).
BUBBLE SOCCER CHARITY TOURNAMENT
Look… we’re not reinventing the wheel here, but we think soccer could be a lot more interesting if the players were encapsulated in giant bubbles.
Which is why we’ve partnered with pizza delivery app Slice to host a bubble soccer charity tournament! Come strap on a bubble suit and run full speed into your friends... or frenemies (looking at you with your 9PM emails, Karen from accounting). And if the whole running into each other thing hasn’t sold you on the event yet, you should know that proceeds will be going towards building schools across the globe and all bubble soccer players will be leaving with a little goodie bag courtesy of Outdoor Voices.
There’s a reason why Clue is such an enthralling board game. Whether you’re playing by the rules of having to guess why your cousin swallowed the little lead pipe, (it’s fine, Aunt Margaret; it’s not actually made of lead… no, don’t call poison control) nothing gets you to the edge of your seat like a mystery.
If you love a good whodunit? or have a mysterious story of your own to share, check out The Moth’s Mystery themed StorySLAM; an event where fellow New Yorkers will tell stories of puzzling events, shadowy figures, secret admirers, and maybe even missing board game pieces…
Like, I get that there’s space and planets; and that we’re miniscule little specks stuck to one as it hurtles through a vast and indifferent universe… but I STILL HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. Luckily ThinkOlio is hosting a talk (at a bar might I add), where an expert will give us the rundown on what we know so far about space, planets, and the universe before opening the floor to our many many questions.
And a big thanks to Slice for partnering with us on the Bubble Soccer Charity Tournament. Slice makes it super easy to order authentic pizza and support thousands of pizzerias in NYC. Check them out HERE
